Bribie Island Tourism - www.tourismbribie.com.auQueensland State Government has recognised that Bribie Island Has unique natural and cultural values and created the Bribie Island Recreational Area. This has been created to conserve the area for nature based recreation for all to enjoy.
The Dugong
This endangered delightful sea mammal calls Moreton bay home. These herbivorous creatures feast on the beds of sea grass in the Pumicestone Passage and Moreton Bay.
Bottlenose Dolphin
Area common sight around the island and can be seen cruising the coastline in search of food.

Loggerhead Turtle
Visit the island to nest ands lay their eggs. Moreton Bay has a significant number of turtles and much research is carried out in this area.
Birds
Bribie Island is a significant bird watching area with almost 350 different species of birds documented here.
The island is also home to kangaroos, emu and dingo.
